Project Description
FEEDING BODY, MIND & HEART
A shared meal is one of the binding agents of the POPS experience. At POPS gatherings, an ordinary classroom briefly transforms into a sacred space where members develop an authentic community that respects and strengthens individual and collective voices. POPS weekly meetings are delivered by a volunteer team who serve a delicious meal, supporting students with their consistent presence. Elected student officers co-lead meetings. We partner with local area restaurants to provide a meal. The food is always free to students, and no one is ever turned away. The unofficial motto of POPS the Club is: First We Eat. POPS believes in nourishing body and soul.
For life we need three things only: nourishment, love, and peace.
Providing training, supervision, assessment, materials, food, curriculum, publishing and performance opportunities for one school club to operate for one year costs $ 10,000.
We rely on our community partners, foundations and your support to continue our work and to continue to expand our reach.
Your contributions ensure delivery of the best program and services to POPS students across the country.
